Explain about Daegwallyeong snow festival.
Daegwallyeong snow festival is a winter festival held in Pyeongchang, Gangwon province around January every year.
대관령 눈꽃축제는 매년 1월경 강원도 평창에서 열리는 겨울 축제입니다.
This Daegwallyeong area, where the festival is held, records the largest amount of snow in korea. Traditionally, people in the area used to hunt on snow wearing Snow shoes which is called 'Seolpi' that could walk well in the snow on a heavy snow day of more than 1m, and transported daily necessities and firewood using 'Balgu' which is traditional transportation method in Gangwon province. In order to inherit / develop and promote this winter living culture, the festival is held every year.
축제가 열리는 대관령 지역은 대한민국 최대 적설량을 기록하는 곳으로써, 전통적으로 이 지역 사람들은 1m 이상의 많은 눈이 내리는 날, 눈 속에서도 잘 걸을 수 있게 해주는 '설피'를 신고 사냥을 했고, 강원도만의 전통 운송수단인 '발구'를 이용해 생필품과 땔감을 운반하곤 했습니다. 이와 같은 겨울생활문화를 계승 및 발전시키고 널리 알리기 위해 축제는 매년 개최되고 있습니다.
During the festival, the wide fields and mountainous area of Daegwallyeong are covered with white snow and filled with beautiful snow flowers. Various snow-related events and programs are held here. One of the most popular programs is the snow sledding. You can have a fun experience coming down the mountain path of Daegwallyeong by snow sledding, and anyonre from children to adults can enjoy it. There are also various programs such as winter sports / naked marathon, so you can have an enjoyable time.
축제 기간 동안 대관령의 넓은 들판과 산간지역은 흰 눈으로 뒤덮여 아름다운 눈꽃으로 가득 차 있습니다. 이곳에서는 다양한 눈 관련 행사와 함께 프로그램이 진행됩니다. 가장 인기 있는 프로그램 중 하나는 눈썰매입니다. 대관령의 산길을 눈썰매로 내려오는 재미있는 체험을 할 수 있으며, 어린이부터 어른까지 누구나 다 즐길 수 있습니다. 또한 겨울 스포츠 / 알몸 마라톤 / 등 다양한 프로그램도 마련되어 있어 즐거운 시간을 보낼 수 있습니다.
The festival venue also has various food booths and exhibition halls. You can taste local specialties and traditional food, and you can also buy products produced in Daegwallyeong. There are also cultural programs related to the exhibition on snowflowers, so you can learn about the history and culture of Daegwallyeong.
축제 장소에는 다양한 음식 부스와 전시관도 설치되어 있습니다. 지역 특산물과 전통 음식을 맛볼 수 있으며, 대관령에서 생산되는 제품들도 살 수 있습니다. 또한 눈꽃에 관한 전시과 관련된 문화 프로그램도 진행되어 대관령의 역사와 문화를 알아볼 수 있습니다.
