The Diaries of the Royal Secretariat (2001)
Joseon Dynasty was in a king-centered government system. So all the national matters were reported to the kings. So Diaries of the Royal Secretariat is the recording of Those kind of things like National secrets, official affairs, ceremony and even weather report and etc.
조선은 왕 중심의 정부 체제였습니다. 그래서 모든 국가적인 문제들은 왕들에게 보고되었습니다. 그래서 승정원일기는 국가 기밀, 공무, 의식, 심지어 일기예보 같은 것들을 기록하는 것이었습니다.
This diaries is often compared with the annals of Joseon dynasty. The annals of Joseon dynasty(조선왕조실록) was recorded by gathering data after the king's death. But the Diaries of the Royal Secretariat(승정원일기) was recorded daily by a officer of Royal Secretariat.
승정원 일기는 종종 조선왕조실록과 비교됩니다. 조선왕조실록은 왕이 죽은 후 자료를 수집하여 기록되었지만, 승정원일기는 왕실의 한 사관에 의해 매일 기록되었습니다.
The amount of data is much larger than The annals of Joseon dynasty. So this diaries served as the prime sources of the annals of Joseon dynasty when it was written. Also Diaries written in the late 19th century and the early 20th century show how Western influence opened the door of the closed Joseon Dynasty.
자료의 양은 조선왕조실록보다 훨씬 많습니다. 그래서 이 기록물은 조선왕조실록이 작성될 때 가장 중요한 자료가 되었습니다. 또한 19세기 말과 20세기 초에 쓰인 승정원일기는 서양의 영향력이 어떻게 닫힌 조선의 문을 열었는지를 보여줍니다.
So Diaries of the Royal Secretariat are considered valuable historic assets and has been used as a black box when studying late of Joseon Dynasty. and was designated as the memory of the world in 2001 by UNESCO.
그래서 승정원일기는 귀중한 역사적 자산으로 여겨지며, 조선 후기를 연구할 때 마치 차량의 블랙박스와 같이 사용됩니다. 2001년 유네스코 세계기록유산으로 지정되었습니다.

승정원일기 is the diaries of the royal secretariats and contains detailed record like weather report, public appeals, national secrets and others.
One of the remarkable features is that it has extensive amount of record despite losing some part of it during 임진 war (the records before 광해군) still remaining around 3200 diaries. So this is the good detailed records to get information of 조선 dysnasty.
With this reason 승정원일기 diaries are considered valuable historic assets with annals of 조선 dynasty and 일성록 and was designated by UNESCO in 2001

Daily record in 승정원 1623 1894 (271) 승정원은 매일매일 쓰임 / 조선왕조실록은 왕이 죽고 난 뒤에 쓰임. 조선왕조실록 쓸 때 승정원일기를 참조했다 prime source / 승정원일기가 이괄의 난 때 소실 (임란전) 한 권밖에 없다. 원본만 존재 / 조선사연구할 때 블랙박스역할을 한다. (일성록) 실록은 백과사전 역할 / 승정원일기는 조선후기를 연구할 때 좋다.
『승정원일기(承政院日記)』는 조선 왕조에 관한 방대한 규모(17~20세기 초)의 사실적 역사 기록과 국가 비밀을 담고 있다. 특히 19세기 후반에서 20세기 초 사이에 기록된 일기는 서구의 영향력이 당시 쇄국정책을 고수하던 조선 왕조의 문호를 어떻게 개방하였는지 잘 보여 준다.
승정원일기는 조선최대의 기밀기록인 동시에 사료적 가치에서 조선왕조실록, 일성록, 비변사등록처럼 한국의 역사와 문화를 세계에 자랑할만한 자료.
조선 최대의 기록이라는 점과 1차 사료로의 가치를 인정받아 2001년에 유네스코 세계기록 유산으로 등록.
