Tell me about Cheonggyecheon.
Long time ago, Cheonggyecheon stream was the place where housewives gathered to do laundry and chat and children played in the shallow water. But with modernization in korea, this stream was buried under concrete and pavement with mortor way which was built above it.
오래전, 청계천은 주부들이 모여서 이야기를 하면서 빨래를 하고 아이들이 뛰어노는 곳이었습니다. 하지만 근대화와 함께, 청계천은 콘크리트와 고가도로 밑에 묻혀버리고 말았습니다.
By the way The highway seriously impacted the environment cuz it raised heavy traffic so it became air-polluted. So In 2003 Cheonggyecheon stream restoration project was started and after 2 years it made the stream flow freely and Seoul became a more eco-friendly city. Cuz this stream has had quite environment impact on surrounding area.
하지만 그것은 교통체증 그리고 공기오염 등 환경에 심각한 문제를 일으켰습니다. 그래서 2003년부터 청계천 복원사업이 시작되었고 2년 후 물길이 다시 흐르기 시작했고 서울을 조금 더 친환경적인 도시로 만들어 주었습니다.
The air condition became cleaner in Seoul and the temperature is 1,2 degrees lower, even on hottest days. and it has pedestrian walkways, clean waterfall and a park.
청계천은 서울의 공기를 조금 더 깨끗하게 만들어 주었고 더울 날씨에도 기온은 1~2도 정도 낮추는 등 주변 지역에 꽤 많은 영향을 끼쳤습니다.
So Cheonggyecheon stream is a popular rest area for visitors and the annual Seoul lantern Festival is held along the waterway every November.
청계천은 보행자를 위한 도로가 있고 깨끗한 폭포 등이 있어서 지금은 방문객들에게 정말 인기 있는 쉼터입니다. 또한 매년 11월 청계천 등불축제가 열리기도 합니다.
