In the Folktales of Samgukyoosa (삼국유사), History book, The prime minister of Silla dynasty, Kim dae sung (김대성) Built Bulguksa temple for his current parents and built Seokguram grotto for his previous parents in his past life.

삼국유사에 따르면 신라시대 수상이었던 김대성이 현재의 부모님을 위해 불국사를 지었고 과거의 부모님을 위해 석굴암을 지었다고 합니다.

Seokguram Grotto is the only artificial grotto in the world. it was made of granite and it took around 40 years to carve the rough granite into beautiful grotto and buddha. Inside of this cave, it has Bonjon Buddha at the center with disciples around the wall. and it was made to be able to be controlled temperature and Humidity level in natural way.

석굴암은 세계 유일한 인공 동굴입니다. 그것은 화강암으로 만들어졌고 거친 돌에서 매끄러운 돌로 만들어 내기 위해 40년이라 걸렸다고 합니다. 동굴 안에는 중앙에는 본존불이 모셔져 있고 주위에는 그를 따르는 제자들이 둘러싸고 있습니다. 이 동굴은 자연적인 방법으로 습도와 온도를 잘 제어할 수 있게 만들어졌습니다.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Bulguksa temple is literally translated like the land of Buddha. This is an outstanding example of Buddhist religious architecture built in the Silla period which worshipped Buddhism. This temple has many national treasure like dabotop pagodas (다보탑) and Seokgatop (석가탑) stone pagodas, Cheongeungyo (청운교) bridge and so on.

불국사는 문자 그대로 부처님의 나라라고 해석됩니다. 이 사찰은 불교를 숭배하던 신라시대의 훌륭한 종교적 건축물입니다. 절 안에는 다보탑, 석가탑, 청운교를 더불어 많은 국보를 보유하고 있습니다.

 

 

 

 

 

 

and what makes Bulguksa temple more famous is its earthquake-proof design. When earthquake occurred in gyeongju and near city in 2 years and a year ago. this temple was all right. because Silla people had already thought about the earthquake damage and applied the earthquake-proof architectural technique to Bulguksa temple.

이런 불국사를 더욱 유명하게 만든 건 내진설계 방식 때문입니다. 최근 경주 및 인근 도시에 지진이 발생했을 때, 이 사찰은 전혀 이상이 없었습니다. 왜냐하면 신라시대 사람들이 이미 지진의 피해에 대해 고려하고 있었고 그런 것들을 고려하여 건물을 지었기 때문입니다.
